[ Having known Ren as long as he has, he really should've expected the violence. Moreover, he should've calculated for the possibility of everything going downhill. Though admittedly, he'd been distracted by the seething argument with the Force user before they'd gotten into town and had spent considerable time trying to be less angry about everything. By the time they got to the merchant, he'd moderately re-stabilized, but the air had a tension around it that hinted at bad news.

Ah, how right he'd been.

Time seems to do that oddly comical and horrifying slow down as the one guard goes diving for Steve's legs. Now, strategically, that makes sense. What doesn't make sense is doing so when they've obviously and severely underestimated who they're dealing with. It takes only fractions of seconds before Ren's destructive temper gets the better of three guards– one is down and the other two look to be in some sort of shock. Quickly taking in the odds, he feels like they have a decent chance.

He barely side steps a slow swing coming from another guard, wincing as the blow hits his forearm. With some fast-remembered training, he gets the pistol out of the guard's hand. His foot runs sharply down the man's shin, a temporary crippling until he can stun blast him enough to put him out of the picture.

And Ren is far, far ahead. ]

He isn't going to stop– can you keep up well enough?

[ Hux is already moving to start following him, but it looks like they're about to have a bigger problem that involves more guards. Cool. Ungently as possible, he mentally curses Ren for being an uncontrollable child, even as their mind link stretches with the gaining distance. ]
