(Everyone is pretty back home. Attractive even in their hideousness, in the way things can be violent and cruel .... I live in a terrible area of Naples, you see. What you see in postcards and magazines isn't always the same as in the streets.
What people wear, how they style their hair, their faces, the way they move .... we do it with such purpose and poise, I don't even notice it anymore. It's almost embarrassing to not be as gorgeous as the rest of them are.
And you would know, when you see them. You just know.)
