fight, fight, fight [ Petre's in the back of a Bout It Out arcade, surrounded by the posse of a player who lost to him just moments ago. He's not sending out any distress signals - why would he, he loves a fight - but the tension in the air is something he's feeding on, and that inevitably bleeds into the links of anyone close enough (or who wants to be close enough) to feel it. Petre's all smirks and not responding to taunts for now, which is pretty amazing, but he's just waiting for the first excuse to start pounding. ] - they see me trollin (and failing), they hatin' (with good reason) [ congratulations! The pictures pop into his head, of finding someone nice and meaty, befriending them long enough to get them out of the way and sink teeth right into their throat. So he goes to the shady part of town and picks his victim. Walking up to them, he readies a smile and opens his mouth, but instead they ask him Hey kid, you wanna buy some drugs? Nobody taught him 'just say no to drugs'. So he says yes. And he buys alien drugs. Feel free to bump into him while he's still on the streets, or back at the bearings, or in some poor establishment that's going to put up with his ass for a little while. The demon baby is high. ]

[Mara doesn't like cockiness or kids, and she especially doesn't like getting a mental pulse from some violent teenager while she's trying to relax at the bar. She's watched a few of his fights, and isn't particularly impressed with his technique. Finally, she decides to just go for it and challenge the kid. Maybe then he'll shut up.]

[ giorno has been doing a lot of pickpocketing lately, mostly involving small tech he can easily wipe out and sell to anyone who pays. after a while one gets an idea as to how much people tend to pay for stolen crap, and he's surprised at how easy it is even in another world. he's collecting credits, that's more or less what he cares about, even though he's not desperate enough for them in the first place.

he does his best not to seek fellow members of the nest during these excursions - unless he absolutely has to. sometimes the brush of things is accidental, however, and giorno seeks this particular mind, so familiar in its rather affected state. giorno moves through the streets around town, quietly following where his mind leads him. when he finds petre, looking a bit odd and disoriented where he was, giorno keeps himself at a distance, frowning at him. ]

[ He's frowning. A lot. Seemingly to himself, or at himself, even though there's no mirrors or anyone to talk to. When Gio approaches he snaps his head, irritated and mellowed out all at once, voice slurring slightly. ]

Uhm, yeah? Why wouldn't I be okay?

[ As noted by how he is emphasizing words for no apparent reason, eyes set on Gio with super wide attention. Thing is, they're not really blue anymore - the pupils seem to have expanded so much the iris is blacked out completely. ]

[ But, well. There he is in the ring, getting the challenge pop up before the readhead is before him with her avatar in place. Charlie Hellsing, or Hellboy, quirks an eyebrow and purses his lips, this creating his own version of Bitch Face.

His avatar does not move - it's a version of him, eyes blacked out, fangs instead of teeth, too big and too many, and fingers twisted into massive claws. It's a nightmare, but not everyone knows it's a projection of reality, too. ]

[ He knew something was up the moment he started looking for his datapad in the fridge. Was that before or after he spent ten minutes marveling at how big his yaoi hands are? The state of mind Aoba's found himself in isn't normal. It takes a minute of solid concentration to figure out where the lack of normalcy is stemming from. ]

[ It's muttered under his breath at the same time he reaches for Petre's mind. ]

I'm sure you would. [Mara doubts that day will come, and it's clear in her voice, in the crackle of total confidence that snaps through the bond all the Nest share.]

[Her avatar isn't customized, and has no distinguishing features beyond the ones given in the default setting. But her score record is nothing to sniff at, and that, she thinks, is the important part. She presses the button to begin the match, and the countdown begins.]

[ On any other day, an opponent's confidence would make Petre laugh with the certainty of the outcome. This one, though? It makes Petre's thoughts kick with irritation, which then turns into further determination to take a fellow host down. He's already positioned before the button is even pushed, and he lunges toward her in a flash. Her score might be considerable, but Petre's been at this game for a while, and he plays hour after hour. Enhancements accumulate with speed, strength, and so on, but still - someone like him doesn't often invest on building up defense.

He's going to grab at her neck with his claws, ready to snap it right off the avatar. ]

[Petre may have played the game more, but Mara has played the real life version a thousand times over. She ducks out of the way easily, spinning left to try and grab at the beast from behind. Her first instinct is to choke it-- him?-- but can these things choke and sputter? Best to try and snap its neck.]

[So she tries to lunge onto the creature's back, trying to get a good hold around its neck and shoulders so she can reach up and strangle the creature.]

[ Something that's been bothering him for nearly a week, that... doesn't seem to bother him at all right now. Weird. The hazy feeling is still radiating from his connection to Petre, and that answer did nothing for his question. ]
