[Definitely the wrong word, especially as the Mountain Men were known for referring to her people as savages. It was a way of dehumanizing them. Thankfully, she's accustomed enough to Petre that if she can accept that he likes to eat human flesh to feel powerful, she can overlook this.

(I've little training in regions like that. I grew up in an area that was more temperate: green, with very hot summers and brief, but frigid winters. I can't say I suit these circumstances.)
