[ Asuka probably understands it more than Annie realizes. She's been there; running on anger and a determination to make one's self loved until there's nothing left but a hollow emptiness and a bitter apathy towards existence. The only thing that's saved her is, funnily enough, her own experience of death and the impact of having herself turned and twisted by forces beyond her comprehension. That's only taken her so far, though. She has to do the rest by herself - and that's the difficult part. She doesn't know enough about Annie to judge, doesn't know her demons.
