Push your feelings aside, help someone else. Make sure someone else is all right, even if you're breaking down. If the world is sliding sideways, you make sure they're okay.]

[If... it could be the end of the road, you make sure someone else might live to walk further.]

[She's avoiding looking at him, and he can't help but look at her.]

[He's heard it, whispered through the ranks of the Nest. Like a refrain. Like the last cries of radio static in deep space. And just as hollow, in places. Not here -- not from her. That much, he can tell. His friend is gone, and she's grieving too.]

[As it dawns on him what she's saying, he shakes his head. The fact she came at all means something. The fact she offered anything...] -- It's all right.
