"It's not my favorite thing." Elliot admits resentfully. "Feels like I don't have any privacy." And privacy is, hypocritically, important to Elliot. So important that he doesn't like the mental connection that lets others infringe on it so easily. Even though it helps them understand him better? Even though it offers him connections he couldn't have made himself?

"More than that," he goes on, to find a shield from his answers to those questions and what they say about him, compared to his self-perception, "It's a reminder that I'm just one part of a greater whole now." He doesn't sound like he thinks that's an improvement.
