What gave me away, was it the Commander part, or just the way I talk.
[She's not ashamed of her life, or her choices. Not those choices, at least. Shepard would have died or lived as a killer all her days, without the Alliance. She's still a killer, of course, but now she saves a lot more lives than she ends, by all public reckoning.]
