To be fair, Pidge has only been on Damon's radar because everyone Sam cares about is on his radar. Damon has a sort of hierarchy of people he gives a shit about — first on the list is Sam and Elena and Stefan, second is everyone they care about, third is everyone those people care about, et cetera. He takes care of his people first, but he'll always be at least nominally aware of the people his people want kept safe.

Because Twilight is bullshit and he'd rather be dead than sparkle.
