He's not exactly a sunshiney optimist himself, but a physical obstacle is so much easier to take in stride. He knows what he can do, physically. He knows what he has to do and what to pay attention to. There's a real, solid obstacle with a clearly defined path through or over it.

If only everything in life were that easy.

He tilts his head back, looking at the handholds dotting the path up.
