[ Technically, it came up a few days ago, but Sam's been letting something bounce around in his head to see if the possibility gets less troublesome after he sleeps on it. And sleeps on it a couple more times.

[ Kate has that awkward laughter. Because well. ]

( Actually, that was kind of my life for a few months. Went through some portals looking for a friend — have a teammate who could make portals with a kick of her foot, it's pretty great — and we got kind of stuck. Jumped through dozens of them. That's where I saw the Kate-birds. )

[ Wow. Pidge is pretty impressed. She hasn't quite gotten that far herself. ]

( That sounds both incredibly amazing and absolutely terrifying at the same time. Did you ever worry about getting home? )

( Yeah, well, it quenched that hunger for adventure for a good while. Mostly just figured I'd get home in time for my birthday at least but — after a while, wasn't sure I would. Universe hopping? Freaky stuff. )

( Kind of in the same place, I guess. I ended up in space, flying a giant robot, and I was supposed to fight a war against one empire, but that doesn't seem like it's going to be happening now that I'm here. I mean, we have to fight a war here, too, but it's not the SAME war- )

[ Sorry, Pidge tends to ramble. ]

( Whoa, hey. Flying giant robots? What are we talking here, like Transformers style? )

( Kind of? It was a giant robotic lion. That can form a larger, more powerful robot with four other giant robot lions. And it's also kind of psychic. Also where I got my armor and bayard. )

( Armor and bayard? Hold on, are you are a superhero of some kind? )

( Paladin. Technically.

So yeah, basically a superhero. )

( It was a little overwhelming at first and I was sort of worried that I wouldn't be tall enough or something stupid like that, but, I dunno.

It feels good to be able to help people. )

( My world's full of them. I'm one too.

People didn't think I could be because I didn't have the supposedly necessary super powers, but that's a sham. Anyone can be a superhero if they work hard for it. You don't even need to be that tall. )
