[ Hello, friends - have a polite knock on your mental doors. ]

( Sam and me did some more digging on Ngozi trying to work out her angle in all of this. Pretty sure we can rule her out as a secret H+H1 fanatic - whatever's making her act extra shifty seems like it started around the first bombing at the warehouse.

That's about when Ven started acting awfully cagey too. ) [ But they couldn't get past his security to find out what he was hiding thanks to the second bombing.

A pause. ]

( Anyway - I've got the holo-things and articles on a screen out in the living room if you wanna take a poke at them. )

( You can probably find some articles in the news archives about a warehouse bombing from a couple of weeks back. The place was owned by Ven's company, he put out a reward for any information on the culprits then pulled it kinda quietly, never mentioned it again and no new info came out after that.

Some of us tried infiltrating his headquarters, but security clocked them before they got anything. )

( That is pretty weird. Why would he advertise and then just stop talking about it? Who'd be powerful enough or close enough to him to get him to shut up? )

( Don't know. Some folks've got a few theories - maybe he's been under someone else's thumb from the start and only put out the reward for appearance's sake, or maybe he did get information and it was something he wanted covered up.

Trouble with getting the answer's been that the guy's not easy to get close to. )

( There's apparently a lot about this planet we don't know. )

[ She 'feels' frustrated, but it's not really aimed at him. ]

( Why would they drop us in here and expect us to blend in? What exactly do they want us to do? )

[ He can't really blame her, though his sympathy is held firmly behind a wall to keep from unintentional bleeding. Learning about the city hasn't been so difficult, not with all the information available at their fingertips.

It's when you want to understand anything beyond the surface level that they've been hitting walls. ]

( Carata and Nirad have been here for a few months, but even they haven't had much luck untangling this mess. And our marching orders are - vague.

To be honest, I'm more concerned with stopping whoever's responsible for the bombings than getting these people back on the track of singularity. )

[ He never completely agreed with that, or some aspects of their interference. ]

[ Figuring out how to keep her emotions from bleeding into people has been hard. It really just makes her life more difficult. ]

( Yeah. Who cares about this singularity thing when people are getting killed over it? If we can help people, let's do that first. )

I don't know, I feel like we don't have a lot of direction or much of plan. )

( There's some plans, but too many directions I think. Having trouble narrowing them down - that's part of why we went doublechecking Ngozi.

[ She's used to technology being a huge part of every-day life. The 1930s and 40s are basically ancient history as far as she's concerned. ]

( A place called Earth. I'm not the only one, but I'm about half a century earlier than everyone else. Got planes in the sky, but no one in space yet. )

( Hey, I'm from Earth! But, uh, you're from before spaceflight? Even Sputnik? )

[ That's mindboggling. That's practically ancient history (read: over one hundred years ago, as far as she's concerned). ]

( No rocket ships. Stark Expo had a flying car on the stage, only it did more floating and falling than flying.

( 2070s, actually. )

( Huh. 1943.

You guys living on Pluto by then? )

( Not quite, but we were sending manned missions out there. )

[ Although there's some negative emotions that leak out that are associated with that. Loss, a touch of sadness. ]

[ He's curious, but not the type to push if it's a topic that's better left alone. Hard to tell what's intentional and what's bleeding through. ]
