[This little mental nudge comes from Nathaniel Horn, someone who is, oddly enough, not at all used to making these kinds of things on his own. Still, he's been thinking since the bombing a while ago, and this is a good chance to let everyone know what's been on his mind.]

(So........ladies, gentlemen, people in general, let's talk about monsters. Spooky beasts. Creatures that go bump in the night. Those things. They all exist in one form or the other. Lots of terrible tales about abominations that want to like, rip you apart and suck out your eyeballs or something. Anyways, they exist! And how do I know they exist?)

[A pause for dramatic effect here.]

(Because I am one. Annnnnnd I don't mean the whole "something is crawling inside of me, alas I'm like the worst person ever" kind of monster. And honestly, I'm not a monster, but an alien, but...semantics! Anyways, if you see a big hulking flesh thing that looks like it crawled from your worst nightmares sometime, please don't try to destroy it like right away. It might be me. And I wouldn't like that. Just say hi over the mental telephone before doing anything rash.)

[There's a long pause here as he tries to piece together what other points he wants to make. It looks like he didn't think all of this whole mental speech thing out beforehand.]

(Anyways, uh...are all of you human? For the most part? I don't think there's anything like me among the broods...unless I'm wrong. So like, if you have any questions for me to answer, or want to share examples of big spooky monsters where you come from, just, like, tell me? Honestly, I think I'm pretty good-looking no matter what form I take, but I know most of you guys don't like seeing things like, I dunno, teeth growing in different places outside of human mouths and stuff, so I just wanted to give you a heads up. I don't transform often, but it could happen. Just be aware, and all that.)

(Eh, actually, there's a worse reason for it. It's not about not being able to tell anyone apart. My society literally thinks they're above everyone, even in terms of appearance, and think that taking on some other species' form is akin to, like, rolling yourself in mud and showing up to a fancy restaurant. They see it as an insult to the obviously superior true form.)

[A beat.]

(Basically, the motivation behind most things at home was "we're the best beings in the galaxy and we will insist this in every way possible for some reason".)

[ She's totally judging, but she's not trying to be mean about it. Much. ]

( Or stop being jerks. Probably both. )

(Easier said than done, I'm afraid! Which is why I hightailed it out of there instead of being stupid and trying to start some kind of revolution. It's rotten to its core, there's no changing it.)

( I guess I can understand that. I think I would've wanted to keep digging, though. Find out why and how to change it. )

(I commend you on your wish to do good for my ever so backwards people if you were in my shoes, but it would be a waste of time. We started off on the wrong foot - we thought society was all about rules. And now that they've made all the rules they cab, they think they have a great society. They don't. But they're waaaaaay too ignorant to realize that.)

( Sounds like the people who manage to get put in charge of everything almost everywhere. )

[ HA. She's definitely not bitter about anything, nope. ]

( Where'd you end up going? Uh, at least if it wasn't here. )

(I went on an intergalactic road trip. Had no destination in mind, but then I kind of accidentally crashed into a planet called Earth. Pretty great place, actually. I've been living there for several Earth years before I got all caught up in this hivemind mess.)

( Well - that makes sense. You look like a human. As far as I know, we only come from Earth. )

(Yeah! I mean, apparently people like Ilde come from some other weird places, but I'd pinpoint Earth as the main source of all humankind. It's a pretty cool place. A plus, would crashland again.)

( Huh. Well, maybe in other universes or the future humans have colonized other planets. They're only from Earth where I'm from.

Oh, uh, I hope the landing wasn't too hard. )

(The landing wasn't too bad! Could've been worse. I was actually a space pilot for my people before I went renegade, it was really just bad luck on my part.)

( Bad luck? How exactly did you crash? )

(Ran out of fuel. I thought that you guys were like everyone else and had fueling stations for space travel, and that Space Station thing you guys have was definitely not one. So, me, being ever so smart, didn't think to refuel before I entered your galaxy, and I ran out. Then I got stuck on good old Earth.)

( Uh, yeah. We definitely don't get interstellar visitors. Not usually, anyway. )
