WHERE: The streets of Concordia
WHEN: Dusk til just before dawn on DAY 040
SUMMARY: IT'S A PARADE
WARNINGS: Add them to your top levels as necessary etc etc
As from the calendar:
Confetti! It's a parade! The annual Arista Parade, to be precise. Nominally a part of Aristana, the celebration of the ribbons of life, it's a holiday who's origins are nearly forgotten. Nowadays it's a big, raucous celebration pretty dedicated much entirely to drinking and partying. Almost all those in attendance will be wearing ribbons tied around their hair, their wrists, off of their belts and the edges of their sleeves. Pull one off, and you will be rewarded with a kiss - on the cheek, usually. The parade itself showcases a number of performers, costumes, and moving art pieces. It's route covers a number of the main streets of town (which will be closed, sorry traffic), and it lasts from dusk till nearly dawn on DAY :040. Have fun, if it's your kind of scene.
From the mods:
No notable NPCs are present at the parade - at least not in any official capacity. However if anyone wants to interact with a Concordian native, feel free to make up/interact with any randos you feel like!
Feel free to use this log for all of your parade day activities!

It's not poison, I promise. Tried enough of it myself already. [ Another glance at her as she tests out the syrup. ] But I wouldn't guzzle it if you plan on sleeping any time soon.
[ All that sugar might just have her bouncing off the walls.
(hard to imagine that too ) ]
The food here's a lot different than what you had back home?

[While Lexa enjoyed the best of the best in Polis, she would sometimes call for some of the food from down below in the city itself so that she would remind herself of how her people were managing. She doesn't tell Steve about the eels that have grown large, violent, and monstrous, nor about how they've managed to find ways to kill and eat them.
But it may be implied.]

We had our slim years, but I never was hunting for my food. [ Just work. He raises the pan to flip the pancakes again. ] If you wanna sink your teeth into something medium rare, then we gotta head down to the diner one day. Get the Concordia version of a burger - and a milk shake to go with it.
[ Lucky he's stuffed a few pancakes in his mouth already, otherwise he'd be ready to head back down the elevator. ]

We'll head to the diner before we leave. ["We" meaning the two of them. An odd thing to agree to if anyone knows Lexa, but she's grown fond of Steve.] Though I have to admit that I hope that's sooner than later. Many of us grow tired. I hope that this past evening's festivities help everyone.

As for her agreement to the invitation - it's a pleasant surprise. Lexa's a tough nut to crack. They've both been with the Station for the same amount of time now and he hasn't always agreed with her line of thinking when it comes to parts of their mission. The hardened leader-warrior might be her more common side, but there's also the person that was willing to learn how to swing a baseball bat for a game. Someone who'd defend and argue for her beliefs, someone willing to listen and learn. The two don't always go together.
A few more pancakes are tossed onto the plate and he turns the burner off for now, nodding again. He'd like to see this mission over, for the people responsible for the bombings to pay for those crimes. ]
I guess we kinda needed this. [ A break. Reset their brains. Even now his focus starts to circle back to talk of recent events - the business with Kellix and Y, the upcoming infiltration of Ngozi's place. He pauses for a second, cocking his head to one side. ] I don't think I'm gonna miss this place, but I like the noise - you know, the sort that's not in your head. Used to hear the trains running all the time through my neighborhood. [ A resounding clack, clack, clack. He gives a light huff. ] You don't notice it til it's not there.

[Right now, what tension there is can be alleviated by separating people, but the Station itself might prove to be exactly the place for these things to pour out. Perhaps this evening would be enough to help. She can hope, if nothing else.]
Though I wouldn't mind us heading to a place with actual plant life next time. I can teach you all to hunt. [Imagine Kylo Ren hunting.]

Guess they'd frown on shooting pigeon-rats in the park here, huh? [ Another wry grin. He'd like to learn... any kind of survival technique, really. He's got the book knowledge and the week of basic, but that can't make up for real experience. ]
