WHERE: The streets of Concordia

SUMMARY: IT'S A PARADE

As from the calendar:
Confetti! It's a parade! The annual Arista Parade, to be precise. Nominally a part of Aristana, the celebration of the ribbons of life, it's a holiday who's origins are nearly forgotten. Nowadays it's a big, raucous celebration pretty dedicated much entirely to drinking and partying. Almost all those in attendance will be wearing ribbons tied around their hair, their wrists, off of their belts and the edges of their sleeves. Pull one off, and you will be rewarded with a kiss - on the cheek, usually. The parade itself showcases a number of performers, costumes, and moving art pieces. It's route covers a number of the main streets of town (which will be closed, sorry traffic), and it lasts from dusk till nearly dawn on DAY :040. Have fun, if it's your kind of scene.
From the mods:
No notable NPCs are present at the parade - at least not in any official capacity. However if anyone wants to interact with a Concordian native, feel free to make up/interact with any randos you feel like!
Feel free to use this log for all of your parade day activities!

The chuckle turns to a laugh when she stops in front of a carnival game, and there's a flair of nostalgia from when he was a teenager - and hell, even more recently in his twenties - groups of friends and first dates, a cocky attitude looking to impress, soft laughter and elbows to ribs - but he dismisses it between one breath and the next as he lets go of her hand to take his place at front of the game.
Like he's gonna say no to an expression like that. ]
Course I can. Every pretty angel needs a halo, huh? I only got one condition.
no subject
Definitely good for her oh so cunning plan, in any case. ]
Sure, what can I do?
[ waiting patiently with him. ]

Hang with me while I win two of 'em. Gotta get one for myself, you know.
[ Like he said, every pretty angel needs a halo. ]
no subject
As long as you'll have me, promise.
[ She'll do her very best to not get distracted and everything. ]
no subject
Gonna hold you to that. [ He reaches for the third ball, lining up his next shot. ] You have anything like this back where you're from?

Sorry, I am one of those people that comes from some horrible planet that's all chaos and death. [ She shrugs, light-hearted. Is she joking? Maybe, who knows. ] So it's never quite like this.

As it is, he sticks with her light-hearted tone and just lets some of his emotions drift through - nothing like pity, not even quite sympathy, just empathy. His world wasn't chaos and death, but he does understand things being easier here than back home. ]
Might as well take advantage of this now and enjoy it all, then. You got your eye on anything else tonight, you just let me know.
[ At the very least, he can win her that crown, and he lets the last ball fly towards its target. ]
no subject
That's my plan, really. But, just this one for now. I am not going to tow you about winning different prizes for me. [ Though, it's tempting really. ]
no subject
You change your mind, I'll win you every damn thing this place's got. [ A little bit cocky, maybe, but his smile's playful as he collects the prize. He makes a motion like he's going to crown her with it, stopping before he actually puts it on her. ] All yours, beautiful. Can I?

[ She steps up - aware she's so very little and she's so eager for it, smiling up widely. Jack would have won this for her, when he'd been younger. But it would have been to prove how much better a parent he was than anyone else. Also, probably: threatened the vendor if he hadn't won.
This is so far removed from that scenario, so far away from anything she ever knew. When someone who is a perfect stranger just wins her the prize because she asked and she wanted it and it's just about feeling happy. Not to prove anything major. She's giggling, as she presses up on her toes where she's far too short she's beginning to realise. ]
