As from the calendar:

Confetti! It's a parade! The annual Arista Parade, to be precise. Nominally a part of Aristana, the celebration of the ribbons of life, it's a holiday who's origins are nearly forgotten. Nowadays it's a big, raucous celebration pretty dedicated much entirely to drinking and partying. Almost all those in attendance will be wearing ribbons tied around their hair, their wrists, off of their belts and the edges of their sleeves. Pull one off, and you will be rewarded with a kiss - on the cheek, usually. The parade itself showcases a number of performers, costumes, and moving art pieces. It's route covers a number of the main streets of town (which will be closed, sorry traffic), and it lasts from dusk till nearly dawn on DAY :040. Have fun, if it's your kind of scene.

No notable NPCs are present at the parade - at least not in any official capacity. However if anyone wants to interact with a Concordian native, feel free to make up/interact with any randos you feel like!

[ Don't worry. She already considers him useless.

Parker doesn't seem to respond to the nice word used to address her (if she had a cent every time she was called there she would have a lot of cents). Instead, she steps over the kid to pick up the bag, not concerned with him at all. One of the "beers", or whatever it is, has got a big dent on it. She pulls it out and throws it over to the teenager anyway. A for effort, but that's about it.

She walks back to useless Steve, puts the bag down on the short wall, slipping her hands into her pockets as she stares at him. ]

How are you still alive.

[ It's not even a question. It just is. ]

[ Welp - the kid's stopped his flailing, having backed away a bit just before the beer gets thrown his way. He catches it with both hands, giving her a stupefied, then suspicious look. Watches her for a few seconds while walking backwards, but after that wastes no time bolting back to the crowd of parade-goers, likely to meet up with his small herd of friends again.

Meanwhile, Steve's got both feet on the ground, both eyebrows raised at the retrieved bag. ]

Huh? [ The question takes a second to register - and he bypasses it entirely. ] Thanks. [ Nodding at the bag. He bends down to pick it up. ] You didn't have to do that.

[ He's surprised she did, to be honest. ]

I'm aware.

[ She says flatly. There is no thought to it, more an automatic reaction than anything at all. An urge born out of a mixture of boredom and a need to bury thoughts under action. Left to her own quietude, she will overthink. It is not always a good thing. Most often, it is a sure way to isolate yourself further.

Not that that is a problem for Parker here, if asked. ]

The party is on the other side.

[ In case he missed his way. ]

I know. [ Not so flatly. A tilt of his head. ] I'm heading back to this apartment party - it's not too crowded if you wanna come watch the parade from the balcony.

[ She wouldn't have to worry about anyone ragging on her too much for not having ribbons or her lack of holiday spirit. ]

[ Parker gives him a long look, quiet for a while as if to give him the chance to realize what stupid thing he said. But not fast enough, apparently, since she just ends up frowning at him. ]

No.

[ Come on. ]

[ He stares right back, then gives a short shrug. ]

Well, if you change your mind - [ INSERT ADDRESS OF RANDO APARTMENT. With that, he starts walking backwards... nearly tripping over his own feet again, but he skillfully catches his balance before toppling over.

Let's just walk forwards from now on. ]
