[ She is a xenophobe, deeply, but she is trying to come around. She recognizes them all as one, but has a long history with monsters, shadows, superstitions that is difficult for her to abandon.

Zhukov makes her especially uncomfortable. She doesn't even like the way he vibrates on the psychic plane and she has outright avoided speaking with him or being near him. ]

[ That's fair; Sam's concerned about those consequences as well. They eat at the back of his mind, and her bringing them up causes a faint hint of unease on his side of the mental link. He doesn't know if they will be worth it, when the day comes, but he does know that he can't allow himself to do nothing about a potentially dangerous power that he doesn't understand.

But it's her comment about nonhumans and their blood that gets his focus. ]

[ Truth be told, she's not entirely certain she cares about him. He has been kind, and forthright, but does she know him well enough to care. Can she care, right now, with all those she lost in Concordia so fresh on her mind? ]
