[There's the impression of eyes being rolled. Trust Bellamy to butt in, reassurance Murphy doesn't actually need - they aren't on the Ark, Annie isn't Pike, Murphy isn't a Skybox inmate. But that still doesn't mean he's down for this.]

[ Not that physical combat had ever or would ever be Murphy's first resort, but if they get caught flat-footed again and Murphy was on his own— ]

[ There's a lot simmering below the surface that Bellamy's just not acknowledging. For once, he's keeping a tight lid on his thoughts. For the moment, at least. ]

( Yeah, and I shouldn't have to point out how, for once, we don't have to fight. Or hunt. Or run from grounders or chipped zombies, or walk through woods and desert for days. So you'll just have to forgive me if I don't want to ruin the one good thing about this place by voluntarily signing up to run laps. )

( I wish that were true. But just because we aren't up against the same kind of problems we are at home doesn't mean we aren't still in danger every time they send us on a mission. )

[By the skin of his teeth, and with a hell of a lot of help from the extra talents the Nest had loaded people up with. But Murphy's dug his heels in too far now to listen to the logic behind Bellamy's words. Don't be stubborn had only served to anchor the belligerence more firmly.]

[ There's a whole logical argument Bellamy wants to make. He wants to push this to the breaking point, where presumably Murphy would cave. But Bellamy's choking on something simpler: I don't want you to get hurt if I'm not there to help you. It bleeds though as a formless worry as Bellamy grits his teeth against irritation. ]
