[ Sam's... not normally one to use the mental link to talk to the Nest in general; he still prefers in person most of the time. But the only other option he can think of for something like this is to stick up flyers, so mental link it is. With his widened connection comes the feeling of feathers and a distance rush of wind. ]

( For those of you who don't know me - I'm Sam. I'm one of the people you can find spending half the day in the training hall. I know a lot of us have got our own training routine, but I'm looking to step outside mine a little.

Guess you could call this an interest check, see who'd be up for doing some training in working together. I know everyone ain't into the team thing and I'm not asking you to be, if you don't want to. Just looking for the willing. We're all doing missions together, it'd be nice to have some practice seeing how our skills can compliment each other.

Not gonna drop my resume on people who ain't interested, but I'll answer any questions you want about my experience. Or you can find me in the training hall every morning. )

[ A flare of amusement trickles across their link. ]

( I'm basically a living fighter jet, Shep, I'd say pretty damn good. ) [ Even better now that he's been training with the symbiote. ] ( Some, but not a lot. It wasn't a priority back home. )

( Sure, right up until what attacked us before we got here comes back. )

[ GRUMPS. ]

( Okay then, what are missions going to be? )

( Well, you don't lack for confidence. I'm shopping around for support. Used to be, I could walk around with two snipers at my back-- but I'll take knows how to handle a rifle, with thanks. )

[It suddenly occurs to her that no one here, not even Sam, has actually seen her fight. He probably could give an impression of it, if asked, but... It's not the same. Her smugness is quite real.]

( All that aside, Shril got me thinking. I'd like to set up some kind of lessons, with anybody who hasn't got real EVA training, assuming they're willing. If I can find a safe way to set it up, that includes zero-g maneuvering.

If we're all going to be spacers, might as well be spacers. )

( Probably anything. Last time there was an item we had to retrieve, before that there was an interrogation and a bomb to stop. )

[ He's not the only one with confidence, it seems, but he honestly doubts hers is undeserved. They've been in each other's minds too much to doubt each other's competence, as far as he's concerned, even if neither of them have actually seen the other in action.

There's a thoughtful hum at her suggestion. ]

( Why not? With all the people from different worlds here, might as well take advantage of getting to learn something new. )

[ It may seem bizarre, but it's that that finally raises an inkling of interest from Hikaru. ]

( Hmm. Lunch means it won't be an early morning thing, right? Because I'm not getting up early. )

[ The knowledge of some phrases bleeds out without Sam really being aware of it, but, well. One of the side effects of the strength of his connection with Shiro. ]

(Ah, teamwork. It's always useful to know what skills may be at our disposal. I think it's an excellent idea.)

[A pause. Wondering if he meant to send those snippets of words along or not. Erring on the side of intentional. It's less unnerving.]

(Some of the others sound... more familiar. We weren't really that military.)

[ The sensation of feathers is just a little bit stronger as Sam turns his focus to the unfamiliar voice. ]

( Good to hear I'm not alone in thinking that. I don't think we've met yet, but I was pararescue back home, among other things. If that means anything to you, anyway. )
