Day :050-:054

CHARACTERS: Helen & OPEN
WHERE: Around the Station
WHEN: Days 50-54ish
SUMMARY: Downtime Things
WARNINGS: TBA

I.

[Helen spends much of her time wandering the station. It’s rare that she sleeps more than a few restless hours, often plagued by nightmares.

On such nights, she can usually be found walking the circle gardens and drinking a close approximation to a decent cup of tea, the practice settling her mind and giving her space to think.

Mornings frequently find her in the training wing. Some days she swims laps in the pool. Others are spent at the range or working with the dummies. She occasionally does laps on the track when she feels she needs to burn the extra energy.

The hours in between are often spent exploring the halls, seeing what she might discover, or trying to learn more about the symbiote she now hosts.]

II. For Shiro

[In those extra hours she needs to fill, Helen visits the recreational wing, drawn mostly to the small library. Many of the volumes are in languages she doesn’t recognize, and those in the languages she does are frequently titles she’s never heard.

Today she's just returning the one she’s most recently borrowed, finding the space already occupied when she arrives. But it’s a familiar face and she greets him with a smile.]

Am I interrupting?

[One of these days, he's got to work out how to do this "hobby" thing he hears people talk about. Apparently, they're very relaxing. Whatever that means. Which would be funnier if anyone actually heard that.]

[... He'll tell it to someone, later. But now, there's a library he's stumbled across. Less "stumbled" and more "trying a new place to unwind". Since the pool seems to be full of people randomly swimming naked.]

[He feels the presence of someone else's brain before she walks in. And automatically yanks his shields down around his metaphorical ears.]

Hm? Oh, no. No, it's fine. I'm just browsing.
