And the shadows thing was what we kinda did up until we got to the fence, but then Gildor had to open the . . . door-- hole-- cause the barrier didn't seem like something you wanna touch. )

( Shadow-walk is one of my favorite spells - I'm glad to know another with the ability, though I don't recommend trying to slip past the barrier that way. The Second's technomagic is potent. )
