mental link; after everything goes down on the evening of :038
[As it becomes apparent that it's time to move on—to shift forward in what feels like an endless pilgrimage, one in which none of the Hosts will gain any "true" enlightenment, as they will never see this culture as anything more than a means to an end. (At least, that's as far as Lexa sees it. Perhaps it's disrespectful. Perhaps she would bristle at it herself if it were about her culture. But then, no one is calling these people primitive and uncivilized like she's heard about her people in the past.)
Not that any of this will be spoken. This mission will go on, but it's a mission that can come to an end. That is something within their reach.
Which is why she opens up a mental communication to all the Hosts.]
( We must discuss, as a whole, how we hope to proceed moving forward. Before we pack up our things, I would prefer that we have some plan in place for how we act next. It'll prevent any further need to take on actions individually as we will be acting for each other. With the knowledge of each other's future actions.
That is not to say that I recommend against actions. But we can't act in contradiction to one another. Out of impatience for each other. We all hope to be done with this mission as soon as possible.
We have confirmed the presence of the Enemy. How do we hope to proceed? How will we ensure that the Descendants do not claim control of this power?
Furthermore, I implore you all to consider why it is the Enemy would act to prevent peace talks that could secure them the Nectar. And why it is that they need the Nectar. We are only fighting one battle here.
I won't lead this discussion. But we must have this discussion. We work well under time constraints. Let's have an idea of how we hope to proceed before we continue our journey. )
[That's her way of setting a time constraint, all in hopes that people will discuss what they will have to do. It's no longer about Keya (as far as she's concerned), but about their greater mission.]
[ooc: please please please treat this as an IC discussion post where people can threadjack and discuss whatever! i figured it would be a good idea to facilitate discussion here!]

[ The Gravity of Bellamy's question sinks in, after a long - hard - moment of silence from him. Nothing but the hum of something winding up. ]
I want them to suffer under the weight of the life they took. I don't kill. I won't ever kill. Heroes don't kill.
ouch.
[ Has anyone seen them since the hunt?? ]
( And if their people choose to execute them? )
crushes ur heart
[ STUPID!!!!!! ]
We advocate for exile. Or imprisonment. Make them live with the knowledge that their scheming wasn't airtight, they were caught, and now they have to face a just fate. Forcing them to live with their failure and reflect on their decisions is better than allowing them to escape it all through death. No death, no killing. None of it. Everybody lives, the bad guys are punished.
it is very crushed
[ And their punishments could demand blood. It wouldn't be the first time that happened to Bellamy. ]

[ Not savages. Not backwards. ]
Look what we've done in two hours, idiot. We can convince them that blood isn't washed away with more blood.

[ And this conversation is straying into uncomfortably familiar territory. ]
( I need you to be prepared for that. All the diplomacy in the world doesn't change things sometimes. )

[ DON'T MAKE HIM FIGHT YOU IN THIS MASS BRAINLINK BUD ]
It's not going to shake out that way. I'll do whatever it takes to make sure there's no more blood and death - and if you won't help me, I'll do it by myself.

( Bakugo, we aren't going to know until we get to that point. )
[ if ]
( We can appeal to Keya's aunt then. But what she wants has to matter in this too. We can't make that decision for her, or for her people. )

[ It's obvious that he's drawn a very sharp, very deep line in the sand - one that he will not cross, not even psychologically. Answering a murderer with death is wrong. It's immoral, it's not what's done in his world. What good is everything he's brought up to put his faith in, if they don't stand for what's right and fight for it until the bitter end. ]
We can appeal to her, FINE. It can be her call, but I won't hold my tongue, if she decides on blood.
[ And that's that. ]

[ Unsettling memory rises in the wake of that statement: walking back from a battlefield, smeared blood drying dull on his skin, itching and flaking when he touched it. Guilt sitting like a stone in the pit of his stomach gathering weight each time he caught sight of it. ]
( You're sure it's hers? )

[ But there's an undercurrent of yeah, man, I know. He can't help the way his mind curls around Bellamy's, just a little bit, the sensation of warm feathers and a sense of something like understanding before he pulls back.
There's too many of them who know exactly what blood on their hands feels like as it dries. ]
( I'm sure. Doesn't mean great things for us, if the Enemy's got tech or abilities like that - but we knew they were powerful. )

[ There's always a chance, really. But how likely is it? Had anything seemed amiss beyond the obvious disarray surrounding the clothes? ]

[ There's the sense of something like a shrug - it's evidence of a hell of a lot, but Sam's not sure it's enough for him to definitely say the Admiral killed Keya. ]
( I'm not gonna go accusing him of anything, but for our plans? Whether it's him or not, we know the Enemy is aligned with the Descendants. )

[ This isn't strictly related to their mission, and yet. ]
( If the Admiral's being framed, then that doesn't help us there. )
