petre no: the saga
CHARACTERS: Petre and OPEN!
WHERE: Several places, will state in each prompt.
WHEN: 011 and onward
SUMMARY: Petre is up to no good
WARNINGS: Swearing, violence, brattiness.
i. a block away from a Bout It Out arcade
[ He's spent another afternoon and night beating and maiming opponents in the virtual world. While Petre's quickly gained a reputation as the nasty little newcomer who never plays fair, the truth is that he wins a hefty amount of fights and people enjoy watching just the same when he loses - no one can throw a fit quite like this kid. Surely enough, a sore loser is a very sore winner as well, so when he wins the last four fights in a row, he brags and laughs and rubs it in everyone's faces.
One of them particularly dislikes it, and decides that's the final reason he needs to gather up some friends and follow Petre on his way back to the Bearings. They take advantage of his knowledge of little shortcuts through narrow alleyways where no one can really see you, and their better knowledge of how the city's geography works, to finally trap him. After talking some shit, they get ready to show him what Bout It Out feels like outside the virtual world.
They don't quite realize that everything he does as a monster in the games, he can repeat in real life. The teeth, the claws, the ripping and biting; he's well prepared to reenact it. He even starts to feel excited because, at last, he gets to attack someone, then claim it was all self-defense.
His thoughts are uncontrolled with the adrenaline building up, so they should be easy to pick up. Save him or save the little gang of violent nerds, it's up to you. ]
ii. mental link, breakfast is ruined at the bearings
( Who keeps burning the fucking toast? )
iii. ares is lost, petre makes bad decisions, shape-shifting may happen??
[ There it is - the sense of loss, a piece of him missing, and he can't even claw at his insides to figure out what it is. The sense of something being actively broken within him is new, and his powers can't even fix it. It makes him feel restless, then angry. It isn't fair that the other broods still have everyone (who is Jessica tho) and he keeps losing people. Did he know them well enough to care about them? No, but this is a bad new sensation that he can't get rid of, and that's enough to rile him up.
What if he loses everyone, what if he ends up alone again, what if he never sees Diana again, what if what if what if.
He leaves the Bearings to wander the city on his own, making his way to the subspace. Bout It Out won't be enough to release this energy. He's determined to find someone real, someone he can hurt. That will bring him satisfaction, he's sure. ]

[The answer is that it's her. She's the one burning the toast. But at least she knows what all the different knobs do now. Finally.]

[ He peeks inside, twitches his nose and looks around for something else to eat. Damn, girl, he can't appreciate this. At least there was, like, some poetic justice to burnt flowers. And stuff. ]
( So you did it. What the hell is wrong with you? Who's stupid enough to burn toast twenty times a day? )
no subject
[Petre's response is predictably rash. She will act as if he didn't call her stupid (though she will say something about it should he try it again).]
no subject
[ Rash, childish, and just asking for it. Also, this is a lie. ]
( What kind of a world doesn't have bread. )
no subject
[Lexa's words may be just that, words, but she's almost like an animal seeking out a weak point now.
And she chooses not to clarify the matter of "how to make bread."]
no subject
[ That's just unfair, Lexa, gorsh. ]
( Do you need me to teach you what to do with food or what? )
no subject
[The other appliances have settings that indicate the level of heat.
Numbers are different.]
no subject
[ weh weh weh. ]
no subject
[She'll probably end up messing up food in the microwave soon enough, though. Just wait.]

[ Though the overwhelming sense behind this particular exchange is discomfort, resentment at having someone else speak directly into his mind. Bellamy's barely suppressing the urge to tack on a more overt expression of irritation at what he still perceives as an intrusion. ]
no subject
( How about you have something else? We're after the robots, not toasters. )
no subject
( I'm not the one complaining about the toast. )
[ Bellamy's continually avoiding the topic of robots; he hasn't really made up his mind, but he doesn't want to start airing his wariness until he knows more. ]
no subject
[ In a completely non-invasive manner, amirite. Gosh, Bellamy. ]
no subject
[ Not that Bellamy actually has much say in that, these days. It feels like there's always someone pushing on his thoughts, a constant pressure lingering even when Bellamy tries to recoil away. ]
no subject
[ It's just typical that telling Petre not to push the button gets him to run right to it with his hand sticking out. He keeps talking like he's right next to Bellamy, peering at him with childish scrutiny in his lack of tact. ]
( What're you hiding? )
no subject
[ Clearly Bellamy thinks these are both great reasons for Petre to back off. Something about the exchange makes him think of Octavia, the way she'd get when Bellamy wouldn't show her what he was working on, or when he was trying to curl in on his own in the bed they'd shared with their mother. It's the same needling tone, and it brings her memory to the forefront of his mind momentarily before Bellamy catches himself and tamps it back down. ]

( iii. )
She takes a hard drop, and as she does, she nearly falls on Petre (which is all is fault, clearly, for walking in to her path). Stares at him as she stands up, can feel the pulse and then immediately rejects it. ]
Watch where you're going.
no subject
[ A startle that's welcomed unkindly, teenage figure in a defensive posture that flashes an interruption to all the thoughts of frustrated destruction he had in mind. The girl before him immediately pings him with the bond all of those from the nest have, but her mind is notoriously closed off. Upon a closer look, he doesn't even remember seeing her before. Must be a newcomer. ]
You're the one who fell on me! What am I supposed to do, look out for bird shit and falling idiots?
no subject
I believe you'll find both of those in the mirror.
[ She gives him a pointed look, before turning around and walking. No, not going to engage with another asshole from the hivemind. Keeping her distance is key. ]
no subject
Hey! Bitch. Who do you think you are?
[ He doesn't expect her to turn around and answer. In fact it'll be better if she doesn't, because his hands are lunging right against her back to shove her on the dirty, dirty ground. ]
no subject
She swirls around, jaw set and nostrils flared, teeth almost bared. ]
Don't touch me. Don't touch me ever again.
no subject
Or what? You fucking stupid twat.
no subject
Gives him a look, head to toe, eyebrow raised, and clicks her tongue. ]
You know what? You're not even worth my time.
[ Which is why she decides the best thing to do is leave. ]
