( Well, it's not impossible. I've run into people I know here from home and they don't have a clue who I am. But multiple dimensions are also a thing. There's always different variations of us, tossed around in different corners of the multiverse, so that's not really an eye batter. )

( They are picking us from different dimensions though. That's kind of an elevated power that could mean they also have the power to nitpick pieces of us from all over the multiverse. We could just be a mash up of ourselves from different realities.

( Yeah, I kinda figured on the different dimensions thing, or at least different points in time. I try not to think about time travel too hard though, it never makes sense so "Kang's a dick" is good enough for me.

( Yeah, but did you think of yourself as a compilation of multiple verses in one body? That's something to think about.

[ Kate thinks she can almost feel a bit of that disdain through the link. Or maybe it was just enough to feel it in his voice. Maybe holding onto the link at all was making her nauseous. In any case, she felt something. ]

Watching somebody go down the spiral had to be a lot worse than just finding out about it later. ]

( A day's not too bad. A friend of mine is at least ten years older than how I knew him. Turned wrinkly overnight practically. )

( The multiverse is limitless. Think of the butterfly effect with every single differentiating detail created an entire new world. Somehow in some world, possible experimentation with rabid birds could have blended my DNA in to make Bishop hawks — Bishawks, if you will. )

[ Or it was just a very random messed up world. ]

( Absolutely. The ever sought out Lion King reality. )

( Is that even how DNA splicing works? Because I'm pretty sure that's not how it works. )

[ There's loads of disbelief radiating down their particular connection. Then again, she's also more into the hard tech. Not really a biotech kind of girl ]

[ Most of the time when she makes theories, she just kind of makes up things on the go as she's speaking. ]

( You seem pretty calm about the whole "transported to another dimension" thing. Have you done this before? )

( Actually, that was kind of my life for a few months. Went through some portals looking for a friend — have a teammate who could make portals with a kick of her foot, it's pretty great — and we got kind of stuck. Jumped through dozens of them. That's where I saw the Kate-birds. )

[ Wow. Pidge is pretty impressed. She hasn't quite gotten that far herself. ]

( That sounds both incredibly amazing and absolutely terrifying at the same time. Did you ever worry about getting home? )

( It could be a lot worse. He still knows you! )

( But if there's time differences, then maybe that technically means you're from two really similar but not identical dimensions, and in one of them whoever disappeared first and the other they didn't? )

[ ...he's going to tie his brain in knots at this rate. ]

( That's a possibility. It's also possible that he's going to be returned at virtually the same moment with his memories of this altered or otherwise erased, but that seems just as unlikely. Then again, this whole situation seems unlikely and I've had a lot of unlikely things happen to me recently, so maybe anything really is possible. )

( Sometimes I really miss when I thought space cops were just some BS in the bottom of my dad's flask. )
