[Though it may be the first time that Bruce has reached out to everyone mentally, there’s no hesitation in how quickly his voice permeates in other hosts’ heads. As with most things, the man gets right to it — besides, this isn’t exactly being done for the sake of pleasantries.

(If you’ve been paying attention, you’d know that Public Security Commissioner Seong-Hye Ngozi has been hiding something. I plan on visiting her office to find out exactly what that is.)

[Images of the office building itself filters through the link, the fruit of prior research and reconnaissance. And the implication is more than clear that this isn’t exactly going to be a scheduled office visit.]

(I’ll need distractions outside of the Public Security offices. Only volunteer if you’re confident that you know what you’re doing.)

[He’s sure questions are on their way, but he’s not willing to entertain them preemptively. Thus, his words end there.]

[I know, comes the unbridled response to losing another host. Bruce is well aware of how losing someone will shake at their very foundations, in all the wrong ways. He's aware of the pain and the heavy weight of guilt; Bruce would find himself carrying a heft of the latter, this mission being his initial idea.]

(Mara and Rey.) [Though Rey is still in the air right now, depending on how things shake out concerning her... issues with Kylo Ren.

As for Petre, he recognizes the name; he was even given a flash of a face when he first arrived, as a warning for someone who didn't mind poking into others' memories without permission. The mental frown is probably easily read from Bruce.]

(What abilities?)

[ There's no familiarity at the two names. More new hosts he hasn't fully connected with yet. There's no judgement of them, but there is a sense of hope and fret over an unspoken question of them doing well on this mission.

At the question of his broodmate's powers, he speaks back up- ]

Mind control by using his voice. Very similar to what I can do, but... we have different opinions in how we think it should be handled.

[ Really, the only difference is one of them thinks you should ask nicely when extracting information from someone's unwilling brain. ]

He can find out what she's hiding just by asking her, and he can remove the memory right after.

[The "different opinions" comment makes it difficult for Bruce to feel particularly confident about this idea.]

(It might sound like the most straightforward solution, but in the end, physical evidence speaks volumes more than only words.

You mentioned having the same powers, but differing opinions on how to use them. What does that mean?)

[ Aoba's nervousness grows at the question, and with it a wall wraps around his mind and Bruce's. It isn't like the steel hard barriers of Steve's secure mind or the cool stone of The Prince. It's more like Nirad's, made of consistent noise - in this case, a humming frequency with a somewhat musical beat meant to hide their voices. ]

Just that... powers like ours... I don't think they shouldn't be used, but I also think there's a time and place for them, and a way to use them for good, without hurting people. They shouldn't be used lightly, is what I'm trying to say. I can't speak for his opinion, but... I know it can't be better.

[ The last part is somewhat mumbled. Aoba cares for him in a worrying sort of way, but that doesn't mean he thinks Petre is a good boy. He is not a good boy. ]

If he's going on this mission, please be careful with him... but also be careful of what he can do to this woman.

[Aoba's mental walls are unlike any other that he's been privy to. His own are revealed in return, by the very notion of sharing a private link -- a steel barrier, an unyielding fortress. The screeches of bats that echo in strange dissonance with Aoba's harmonious frequency.

This sort of honesty is invaluable to Bruce. A true opinion about a fellow host, for good or ill. In this case, it sounds as if it's leaning heavily towards ill.]

(For what it's worth, I agree with you completely. Every situation is different, but there's always a line that shouldn't be crossed. Especially with powers over the mind.)

[And also, perhaps, for the sake of vague consolation:] (Petre hasn't offered his help. We have no intent on bringing him with us.)

[ The noise of Bruce's mind mixing with his is equally unexpected, the screeching creatures unidentifiable to an island city dweller like Aoba. Unsettling as it is, the grateful sense of trust he finds within the mental fortress is easy to open up to.

He's relieved in feeling that trust, agreement, and reassurance. He doesn't have to worry about his broodmate's safety or frightening powers hurting other people. Not for this mission. He doesn't vocalize it much, no good or phew, just- ]

Alright.

[ Cautious in his optimism. He knows he can't hold Petre back forever - he's not good at it like Angel ]
