[ What is it with all the girls around this place? Always, like, picking at him and shit. Never mind that his conversation with Pidge had actually been pretty cool, it just takes a comment or two to make Petre's back arch like a hissing cat. #petty is what he's all about, and now he's determined to prove he's the coolest guy she'll ever meet. Ever!

He's not yet sure what he's gonna do to prove it, but it'll come to him. ]

Of course I'm here.

[ Katie calls out from across the room. She's not pulling any "invisible" shit. She's just hanging out. He earns himself an eye roll as she pushes to her feet. ]

So, you're here. Better get started.

[ His head snaps to her general direction, lids lazy, brows arched. There you are, yay.

There's pretense at being nonchalant when he makes his way toward her, shaping a lopsided smile. ]

Wow, way to rush me. Someone's impatient.

[ Someone's stalling. ]

[ She's seen body language like that before. Usedd it herself, honestly. She arches a brow at Petre and settles a bit lower in her seat. ]

Yeah, of course I'm human. Why?

[ He's by the table once he's done, head tilted to look Katie up and down. Yeah, she looks human. Not a lot to her. ]

Anyway, here's one thing I can do.

[ One finger up, it's suddenly enveloped by a small flame, dancing lightly. ]

[ Katie blinks and then leans forward, staring at the flickering flame that seems to dance around his finger. ]

Whoa-! How'd you do that? That's not your symbiote power, is it? Are you superheating the air around your hand or something?

[ So much science-speak... what does he do now... ]

Uh. No, it's something I can do by myself. The fire just comes from inside me or something.

Here, [ The flame is out before Petre reaches to grab her wrist. His skin is warm enough to make one think he has a fever. ]

Huh. That's interesting.

[ She twists her arm, feeling the warmth that rolls off of him. She glances down at his hand and then up at his face, eyebrow quirked. ]

Do you ever overheat?

Of course not. That wouldn't make any sense; I'm a demon.

[ Meant to burn in hell and all. The idea hasn't quite sunk in yet. ]

A... demon?

[ Pidge arches an eyebrow. OK, that's not any more crazy then the stuff she's done or seen. ]

Like the mythological demon that will eat someone's soul or something?

No. I never ate anyone's soul, just their body.

[ This is totally cool information that's totally cool to share with anybody, right. ]

But I used to work for Satan? She made me, anyway.

[ Pidge looks somewhere between puzzled, shocked, and incredibly interested. As far as she's concerned Satan and demons and so on are just legends. Religious stuff that she hasn't really been that interested in. So this is... strange. ]

[ That's... gross. ]

I thought Satan was just a myth.

Why would Satan just be a myth?

[ It's as natural as stories in History books, if... Petre had ever opened one. Questions about What Is Real and What Is Not aside, what he does know is that he wants to keep showing off, and hopefully get himself his very new fan. Actual Cat Petre Dodrescu wants all the attention he can get!! ]

Because there's no proof that anything like Satan actually exists?

[ Katie groans. This is getting theological. She's not good at that. She shakes her head and tries to move on. She sounds (and looks) more than a bit skeptical of him and his abilities. ]

I don't know. This isn't going to involve my face getting eaten, is it?

Oh, come on. There wasn't any proof that fucking aliens existed where I came from, now look at this shit.

[ He gestures around, peeved that she'd question something that's so obvious to his own existence. Of course Satan exists - he's spoken to Her, he exists because of Her. ]

[ He has a point, not that Katie really wants to admit it. She sighs and rolls her eyes, arms folding across her chest. ]

Fine, fine. Show me already!

[ Being a couple of huffy teenagers looks like it's going to be a theme between them, prompting Petre to roll his eyes briefly and straighten out his t-shirt before continuing. ]

I guess since you mentioned me eating and shit...

[ He opens his mouth wide, and his eyes go completely oil-black before his teeth all grow into fangs, animal-like and grotesque. It's a short-lived moment. Wouldn't want to freak her out more than necessary (or would you). ]

Whoa-!

[ That's freaky as heck. Pidge jerks back in surprise. Of all the possibilites she'd considered, that hadn't been one of them. She stares at him, wide-eyed. That was something else. She's seen people change, but that had gone from zero to one hundred real damn fast. ]

What the quiznak? What kind of people do you eat?

[ Her shock hits him hard when it manifests initially, but once it softens into actual words, Petre returns to being his usual self. ]

Is there a difference--?

[greentech]

Maybe I'm just curious. I mean, you've got fangs. Do you just - dislocate your jaw like some sort of horrible snake and swallow people or what?

[ She is oddly fascinated with this idea. ]

[ This isn't honestly the weirdest conversation she's ever had. Yay? ]

[ Flat. She's not sure she wants to see him at anything. Or anyone. ]

For the following moment, he stares at her like it's still a dare. After that lasts a couple more seconds, he smiles, and then - ]

[ Katie stares right back, frown deepening. She's not really sure what to make of Petre anymore. He seems to have way too much fun with the thought of actually hurting people. ]

You'd better not.

[ Imagine how much fun he has when he's actually hurting them. ]

What? No! I'm not going to relax about you eating someone or hurting them just because you feel like it!

Can't you just eat normal food that doesn't involve you crunching some guy's face off?

[ She is very uncomfortable with this situation. She's had to sorta kill people before, but she's never eaten anyone. ]
